Position: Senior Insurance Underwriter

Job Description:

Sr. Insurance Underwriter (Plano, TX) required to develop underwriting guidelines, standards, strategies, and control measures in accordance with engineering and construction underwriting philosophy. Prudently underwrite risks for the Property and Engineering department within the given underwriting parameters and maintain underwriting discipline to achieve profitable results. Profit and Loss responsibility for the Property and Engineering line of business. Use knowledge of engineering principles to conduct Risk Surveys for commercial property and light industrial risks. Analyze workload, establish priorities, and manage the desk to focus on underwriting needs, while meeting quality and time service standards for processing. Use extensive engineering knowledge to evaluate applications, reports, information, and coverage requests and apply departmental and regulatory guidelines to determine risk acceptability. Maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, brokers, and market insurance companies to seek business opportunities and provide the best underwriting services.
